Contrary to popular belief, Louisiana is not the liberal utopia that many believe it to be. New Orleans is to Louisiana, what Amterdam is to the Netherlands. Louisiana is a land full of dependable Republicans, Cajuns, and Acadians, where sportsman (hunters) are common. The culture of Acadia, when the unknowing people of Nova Scotia were duped into settling in south east Louisiana, is most likely to stir feelings of pride in the region. However, from my limited experience of travelling in western Louisiana, it is unfortunately not one which is prevalent.
