Artist's Description

I love the simplicity of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Other than the vast beauty of this lengthy Appalachian highway, there are very few focal points to distract the eye in the image, other than the distinctive yellow striped highway piercing its way through the image. There is always a quiet eeriness about the Blue Ridge Parkway; a quaint beauty, as exemplified by the intricately constructed stone bridge in this image. This particular reach of the parkway is near Linville, south of the Grandfather Mountain on a wet summer afternoon in 2013.
