Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

One of the aspects of New Orleans that so intrigues me is the architecture; and the way the quaint nature of the city it is embodied in the �shot-gun� style homes. Shot-guns were named for those homes that were much longer than they were wide. The purpose was to get around a property tax that was based upon the square footage of the front fa�ade of the house. By building the house longer, the overall size of the property could be maintained without increasing dues. What intrigues may is the way that this was also incorporated into the more opulent residences of the Marigny � including this one on Esplanade Avenue. It suggested a commonality between the classes in New Orleans which manifests itself in many more ways than this one.
