This is a view of Calle Conde street sign, on what is now called Chartres Street in the vintage like New Orleans French Quarter. I believe that the cultural value, grandeur, and history of the French Quarter is definitely greater than the sum of its parts. Each detail, large or small, is celebrated in their own way. However, I think that the more iconic images can only be tied together by an appreciation of all of the very small details; such as those in this image. The French Quarter is not just about Bourbon Street, Jazz, or Jackson Square. There are thousands of quaint and archaic characteristics to explore in the backstreets.
I love the way that the French Quarter continually celebrates its history, such as the use of this old Spanish street sign. It is a nod to the cultural past of this magnificent part of the Frenrh Quarter.
