One of the advantages of working as the US Army Corps of Engineers was being lucky enough to experience such wonderful sunsets on the Mississippi River, night after night, for a number of years.

I don�t know that is so unique about this part of Louisiana, or in general the Gulf Coast, but the sunset views in this part of North America are just spectacular. It was very much enough to take my breath away, night after night, as I walked out into the car park at the office. On this particular evening, I managed to catch this Mississippi River Sunset with my DSLR in hand.

I didn�t need to use any kind of tripod for this sunset image. All I had to do was slightly stop down the image to get a darker exposure for the image for the dolphins just on the river bank was enough to be able to get a great silhouette and expose for the sky.
