Artist's Description

This is a textured scene from the Rookery, in Audubon Park, Uptown New Orleans. Back when we lived in NOLA, we lived a very short walk from this busy but picturesque focal point of the uptown area. A particular favourite was to walk around the park at close to sunset, when the colours on the western horizon always seemed to light up the park beautifully. I have taken many shots of this small body of water, so I did like to experiment with techniques. This one is heavily texturized, using both a texture from Design Cuts to add some depth to the sky, and with some of the artistic effects in Photoshop to saturated the colours and slightly distort the details. I think it works quite well, at the very least a jogs a familiar memory for me of those summer nights at home in New Orleans.
