Artist's Description
This is the Eilean Musdile Lighthouse, proudly sitting at the head of the Sound of Mull, watching over vessels sailing in and out of the small fishing port of Oban, on the west coast of Scotland. We were afforded this particular vantage point as we were lucky enough to be on the deck of the Isle of Mull, a ferry taking across to the island the vessel was named for. I have to say that I was quite uncertain as to which side of the ferry I wanted to be on for the 45 minute crossing: there was so much to see and photograph on both sides of the Sound. This was the side I plumped for, for at least 5 minutes anyway. The Eilean Musdile Lighthouse is complimented with the perfect backdrop from this vantage point; which is the mountains leading up to Glencoe and Ben Nevis, with the little bay that was our home for a few days nestled somewhere in between.
