Photographing those long, lonely, and arrow straight roads is one my personal favourite of mine; particularly in the USA. I�m not sure what it is about American highways, but they seem to be much more appealing for this type of image than in my native Scotland. Perhaps it is the yellow lines, which are much more impactful, or that the wide open an expansive landscapes makes the road such a stark and interesting feature. This is one of my favourite examples of this type of image � take on Badwater Road in the south eastern end of Death Valley in eastern California. Not only does the undulating nature of the road look great in the late summer heat, but I love the way the distant landscape seems to disappear gently into the mountains in the background.
