Artist's Description

Castlebay is a small, and relatively quaint, town on the small Isle of Barra. Barra is at the southern most tip of the Scottish Outer Hebrides. It was a 6 hour boat ride back to the mainland from here, which when understood, perhaps adds some context to the remote and desolate feel of the place. Infact, though, I would have liked to have spent a little more time here, as there was a warm welcome in the local cafes.
