Artist's Description
When touring places like the Outer Hebrides with my wife, I always insist on driving. Its not that I dont trust her. Rather, I have come to expect that when I see I sight that I want to photograph, with a composition immediately appearing in my mind, by the time I convey the message to pull over, the opportunity may be a quarter of a mile back down the road. This image is an example of how I was able to see the shot, and stop straight away. This cottage scene looking out over the Isle of Lewis mountains jumped out at me as we drove around the long bend and I was able to stop in just the right place to get the shot. To the image, though, I can just imagine this desolate landscape and rundown cottage in the height of a devastating Hebridean winter. Or, maybe I cant do it justice in mind, but looking at this image gives me plenty of opportunity to ponder it.
