Artist's Description

This is a late November skyline shot of downtown New Orleans. Towards the end of 2011, we had decided to take an opportunity outside of Louisiana, which meant our 5 years in The Big Easy were just about up. There were many shots that I had wanted to get, but hadnt quite gotten around to. This is one such shot. However, getting this shot wasnt so much about laziness or procrastination, but more that I was a little wary of wandering down the levee of the Mississippi River on the Algiers side at night. However, with moral support parked at the toe of the levee near the ferry crossing terminal, I made the effort to get the shot. My first aim was to get a shot of the downtown skyscrapers, but with the crystal clear blue sky, the bridges looked very inviting. Therefore, I set up this panoramic shot, taking several long exposures through about 150 degrees. This shot was taken with a Nikon D300.
