You wouldn�t believe it, but just a couple of days before this shot was taken, my Nikon D300 actually took a brief dip in a local river. Much to my astonishment, the camera came back to life and I was able to take a wander around my in-laws property in the North Carolina foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Shooting this back yard is like walking through a time warp: with hay bales and the distinctively shaped American barn; the early 20th century farming equipment made for quite an epic scene. The setting sun and the rolling mist on the hills in the background completed the scene for me. Although I spent some time wandering around the property afterwards, it was this particular shot that made me so thankful that my precious camera was given a little more life. A timeless yard, shot by a camera on borrowed time! This was an HDR shot, mounted on a tripod and processed in Photomatix.
