Description
I cant think why I didnt visit this part of New Orleans more often. This shot was taken on Airline Drive, on the western edge of the city in St Charles Parish, out by the airport. The reflections, taken late in the afternoon in late winter, were simply fantastic. They perfectly accentuated the detail in the bald cypress trees and this wrinkly tin shack on the edge of the Lebranch Wetlands. It was a scene that was simply made for the camera, and has been one of my more popular images several years on. I cant imagine what life is like on the swamp, but perhaps this is where Creole end and Cajun begins for those west of New Orleans.
