Artist's Description

I love the way the striking bowl shape of Glencoe is represented in this image. Taken from the lay by car park in September 2013, I took a number of shots from this vantage point, but this panoramic aspect ratio is one of my favourites. I was initially a little despondent about the Scottish weather and the potentially limited photo opportunities, but I soon learnt my lesson. The clouds that settled down over Aonach Dubh, a large part of the mountain Bidean Nam Bian actually looked daunting and fearsome in the gloomier weather. Aside from driving rain, I would guess that Glencoe is just one of those famous landmarks that looks good, and can be photographed, in almost any kind of weather or light condition.
