Artist's Description
Sometimes, youll do anything for the shot. Anything. I came across this raging mountain stream in the valley of Glencoe, Scotland, in the summer of 2013. (btw, it was summer, despite the ominous clouds in the background). This stream crosses under a narrow road bridge just behind the shot. However, the road bridge simply did not provide the composition I wanted. I really needed to have the foreground as a more prominent part of the image. The only way to do this was to get up and close; or more to the point down and close. What followed was a nerve jangling (short) climb down a slipper rock bank to the waters edges, before deciding the only way to do it was to get my socks and shows off and set the shot up standing in a foot of water underneath the bridge. This is exactly what happened, and despite my worrying at the time, I am happy to say the camera and myself were safely extracted from this confined space without any damage except wet socks.
