St Charles Avenue and the Streetcars Wall Art

Without a doubt, St Charles Avenue and the surrounding Uptown neighborhoods is the focal point of my memories of New Orleans. We lived on The Avenue for a number of years, during which time I had the pleasure of a 20 minute cruise down it’s bumpy Garden District roads every day on the way to work. It is one of the most famous thoroughfares in the United States, and it owes its fame to a wide array of features that make it so special, and even unique. It oozes history, especially in the Garden District area between Napoleon and Washington, where the pristine colonial mansions and the array of expansive Live Oak trees are a huge draw for many many tourists – tourists that arrive by vintage streetcars busting at the seams....
