Artist's Description
This is a sunrise shot of the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier, taken on a wild an windy Saturday morning in October 2013. I had moved around the vicinity of the rock jetty several times prior to dawn that morning, looking to get the optimum location for catching the sun rise over the Gulf of Mexico and behind the big wheel on the end the pier. This shot was taken as I was hurriedly making my way from one jetty to another � I happened to see the way the waves were washing over the rippled san and decided to set up, for one of many different types of shot that morning. It was original conceived as an HDR images, but I felt that the HDR effect would somewhat ruin the look of the waves washing over the sand.
