Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. This is the Clearwater Beach pier, on the Florida Gulf of Mexico coast. It was Thanksgiving week, and I had spent much of the evening in the water photographing the sunset. As the temperatures were cooling, I decided to wade back to shore and discuss dinner options with the family, which is when I turned around and saw that in the few moments such coming ashore, the sky had turned into one of the most dramatic sunsets that I have seen for years. Rather than wading back out, I decided to take advantage of the converging wave fronts as a foreground. Florida, 2019.
