Description
Some interesting features in this image of Topock Gorge. The sand dunes in the background are likely the remnants of a massive sand bar, formed millions of years ago as a result of the flow of the Colorado River. The foreground is a more recent addition. The palm trees are not natural to this gorge on the Colorado River. They were placed there for aesthetic reasons and now provide a idyllic landing spot for day trippers and their pontoon boats. This image was taken from our own hired pontoon boat, on a trip out of Lake Havasu. 2021.
