Nice composition and processing!

Artist's Description

This is a shot of the State Capitol Building in Austin. This image was shot on a weekend, when the building was thronging with tourists who were, annoyingly, blocking every possible location that could even remotely offer a nice photographic composition. The one place I was able to look without seeing a tourist (and admittedly I was one of them!) was to point my camera upwards. I was pleasantly surprise by the possibilities which were all down to simply geometry. The concentric circles of each level of the rotunda of the State Capitol made for quite an interesting composition, especially when placed a little off center; which offered the illusion of a fractal type image. As I rabbit on, though, about the compositional qualities of the photographic opportunities here, it may seem a little ignorant given the history of the State of Texas, much of it was and continues to be shaped in this very building. This shot was taken with a Nikon D800 on Thanksgiving weekend in 2013.
