Description

Of all the historic and grandly appointed features of Stirling Castle, one of the aspects I was taken was the rain soaked cobbles. I did wonder if these were an original feature during the heyday of the castle many centuries ago, or an add on in later years. If the former, then they are remarkably well maintained, but I would probably hazard a guess that the compound here was likely built around a rain soaked and muddy floor. Scotland, 2022.
