Of all the times I have taken my DSLR to Tralee Bay, I have never really had the opportunity to shoot a sunset, given that I have always been there at the height of summer. Tralee Bay is on Scotland�s northern Argyll & Bute coast, which means daylight tends to run and run late into the night during the summer. However, in September 2013, I had the chance to see the sunset at a more convenient time in the evening.

Tralee Bay is fantastic holiday / chalet part that sits on the shoreline of Ardmucknish Bay, which is a picturesque cove the underneath Beinn Lora and the Falls of Lora, just a few miles upstream of Oban and the picture perfect landscape of the Sound of Mull.

This shot was taken with a Nikon D800, with a 30 second exposure. I set my tripod low on the beach front and had to contend with the tide lapping around the tripod legs and also my feet. The image was textured using a series of layers provided by Design Cuts, put together in Photoshop CS4.
