That is a great capture on Pleasure pier.I like the way you smoothed out the waves.

Artist's Description

In October 2013, I got myself down to the Galveston Seawall before 6.30 am in the hope of catching the sun rise over the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier. I had gotten there a little early though and decided to get some pre-dawn shots of the pier before the sun came up. I was a little surprise to see so many of the piers fairground lights on at such an early hour, especially as they were turned off about half an hour later. This shot was taken with a Nikon D800 and processed to HDR in Photomatix. With some massaging of the HDR process I was able to smooth out the motion of the incoming waves, creating this far more ethereal type shot. It wasnt taken with a big stopper (as mine had seent he end of its useful life a month earlier). However, I was quite pleased that I was able to reproduce that kind of shot, especially as I hadnt planned to when I first left my car that morning.
