This is a shot of Coronado Beach, a coastal district of the southern Californian city of San Diego. This shot was taken on Thanksgiving morning in 2015, when the Pacific coast was subject to a 'King tide', resulting in some impressive waves that came crashing over these rocks sat high up on the beach. To add to the mood, a coastal storm was broken by the morning sunshine just over the Mexican border, creating the nice background effect in this image.
