Artist's Description

Photography is a multi-faceted pastime. Even when in full tourist mode, it all it all to easy to take the sights for granted, casually observing a famous landmark without really absorbing the scene, or reflecting too intensely it. That may not be the case for some people, but I feel that photography definitely helps to bridge that gap, where it exists. Take this image, of Glencoe in Scotlands Highlands: getting down as low as I could to compose the shot of the rushing waters of the River Coe, and waiting for the camera to run through a cycle of shots, certainly demands that you really absorb the scene and become utterly grateful that you have the chance to see it in such a way. While the camera is working, its time to reflect; time to image what happened here centuries past.
