Description

A familiar mountain profile for me and one that I have photographed many times, but always in quite different lighting conditions. This one was taken at the height of the winter in very bracing conditions, from the swinging bridge near the peak of Grandfather Mountain. One note – after years of marveling at the distinctive and oddly shaped peak in the center of the image, I actually found this peak from “road” level while negotiating a dirt road around to Linville Falls. North Carolina, 2022.
