Description
There are two features of this image that I like. The first is the cross loaded mooring of the fishing boat in the harbour at Oban. The second, though, is the sky. It may not be a dramatic sky, and the cloud may seem more than a little ordinary to many, but to me they were a little thought provoking. It was a crisp and coldish day, as the brilliant blue sky may suggest, but as I have now become used to transatlantic travel, I could help imagining these clouds stretching far out over the ocean. The Scottish coast seemed a little exposed and insignificant standing at the head of such a vast expanse of ocean just beyond the mountains on Mull. The endless clouds seemed to represent a link between the land and the sea on this weather beaten and rugged coastline; a reminder that Scotlands coast lies on the doorstep to a much wider world.
