Description
These are the Falls of Glencoe, a feature of the famous Scottish landscape of Glencoe that I wasnt really aware of until the trip I took there in 2013. Although the weather wasnt necessarily conducive to picturesque photography that day, I fully believe that the storm clouds (creating the raging torrent in the waterfalls) are a key contributing factor to the more moody image and the generally more appropriate to the daunting feeling you have when you are in this remote and rugged part of Scotland. This particular image was taken from the vantage point offered by the road bridge across the downstream waters. This is where most of the tourists were comfortable taking there photographs that day, and certainly the safest option. I was happy to take a shot up here (for good measure) and as it turned out I was quite pleased with the results. However, I certainly wasnt content with this vantage point and soon set about getting up much closer to the waterfall, requiring the descent of the rocky pass in my completely inappropriate Sketchers footwear!
